Goodreads description :

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war-- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

In this electrifying debut, Tahereh Mafi presents a world as riveting asThe Hunger Games and a superhero story as thrilling as The X-Men. Full of pulse-pounding romance, intoxicating villainy, and high-stakes choices, Shatter Me is a fresh and original dystopian novel—with a paranormal twist—that will leave readers anxiously awaiting its sequel.

My Thought :
Juliet has an ability to kill someone with her touch. Everyone think she is a monster and she has been locked away for 264 days. During that time, she never touch anyone, until she met Adam, someone from her past who is sent by Warner. Warner is interested in Juliet's power. He want to use her power to torture his enemy. She is held captive by Warner. As time goes by, Juliet and Adam become closer they want to escape from Warner. Can they escape from Warner ? And what if Adam is not the only one who immune to her power ?

Shatter Me is an intriguing book. I like the author's writing style, it's so beautiful. And the strikethrough print make the book more interesting. The book has some great characters. Juliet is just a broken girl who want to better. When we read the book, we can she the war inside her mind. Adam is a right match for Juliet. He is such a lovable character. I like how their relationship develop and how Adam try to to gain Juliet's trust. And there's Warner, the evil guy who is obsessed with her power. He grows up in loveless family. Actually, I feel sympathy for him. The ending of the book remind me of X-Men, because they're very similar. Overall, I enjoy the book and can't wait for the next book. I highly recommend to book to everyone.

I give Shatter Me 4 out of 5 stars.

Review : Wither (The Chemical Garden #1) by Lauren DeStefano

Author : Lauren DeStefano
Category : Dystopian, Sci-Fi

Reading Level : Young Adult
Format : Paperback (400 pages)
Publisher : Kantera (30 May 2011)
Language : Indonesian
ISBN-13 : 978-6029837735

Goodreads description :
Inilah cara dunia berakhir.

My Thought :
Rhine lives in the world where people die at young age, girls die at age 20 and the boys at age 25. At that time, many young girls are kidnapped and sold into marriage. Rhine is stolen away from her twin brother. with 2 other girls, she is sold to Linden and has to marry him. And her journey has begun. Together with Gabriel, a servant in Linden's mansion, she tries to escape and get back to her brother.

The book has great plot and characters. But I don't really like how the book ends, it felt alittle rush. Honestly, I can't imagine to live a life like Rhine's. It's so dark dan frustating. I feel sorry for Linden. He's not a bad person, but sometimes he's such a coward and very clueless about what his evil father did. I also like the relationship between Rhine and her sister-wives.

The cover of Wither is very intriguing, it was the first thing to catch my interest. So I feel a little disappointed when I see Indonesian cover of the book. But in the end it's worth every penny, because I really enjoy the book. I can't wait to read the next installment. I highly recommend the book.

I give Wither 4 out of 5 stars.

Goodreads description :
Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe.

I wonder whether the procedure will hurt.

I want to get it over with.

It's hard to be patient.

It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet.

Still, I worry.

They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness.

The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't.

My Thought :

Magdalena “Lena” Haloway lives in a world where people believe that love is the deadliest of all deadly things. So, on your eighteenth bithday, you have to be cure from the disease, amor deliria nervosa. Lena can wait for the day she turn eighteen so she can be matched and live her life. On her evalution day, something happen and she meets Alex, a boy who will change her life. When they start to get to know each other, Lena falls in love with Alex and she start to question everything. What would she do ??? Would she choose to be cured ???

Delirium is an amazing story. Lauren Oliver is really know how to write a beautiful story in beautiful words. I love how she describe about amor deliria nervosa. It's hard to imagine how can a person live without love. I like how the character is developed. At the beginning, Lena always think that love is a dangerous thing, but when she met Alex and eventually fell in love with him, she start to see love from different perspective. The ending is so heartbreaking. The cliffhanger makes me speechless. I believe many people can't wait to read Pandemonium and want to know what happen to Alex. I highly recomment the book.

I give Delirium 5 out of 5 stars.

Review : Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) by Kendare Blake

Author : Kendare Blake
Category : Horror
Format : Hardcover (316 pages)
Publisher : Tor Teen (30 August 2011)
Language : English
ISBN-10 : 0765328658

ISBN-13 : 978-0765328656

Goodreads Description :
Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story. . .

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

My Thought :
Since his father was murdered, Theseus Cassio Lowood starts to be a ghost hunter. While waiting for the right time to get revenge on his father's killer, Cas killed the dead. His next target is Anna Korlov AKA Anna Dressed in Blood. Anna was murdered in 1958. When she died, She wears a long white dress, and now the dress is stained red and dripping blood.

Anna is different. She know that she is already dead and she is stronger than the other ghost. She kills everyone who step in her house. But when Cas's classmates trick him and send him to Anna's house, for some reason Anna doesn't kill him. Cas tries to figure out what make Anna so different and how to kill her. Can Cas kill her ???

Anna Dressed in Blood is one of the horror book I can't put down. I read the book at night, and it give me chill but I still can't put it down. I really, really, really love the book. The book is told from Cas's POV. It's not too many book which is told from guy's POV, and it's refreshing. Cas is my favorite character. He is so charming, smart and witty.

Even if it's a horror book, we can find a little bit of romance in the book. Cas and Anna are such a sweet couple. The ending is so unexpected. I can't wait to read the next book. I highly recommend the book to everyone. Even if you don't really like horror book, I believe you would enjoy this book.

I give Anna dressed in Blood 5 out of 5 stars.

Publisher: Speak (30 November 2010)

ISBN-10: 014241977X
ISBN-13: 978- 0142419779

Goodreads description :
Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

My Thought :
Cassia lives in a world where every choice is decided by Society. They decide who you will marry, where you will work and when you will die. On her 17 birthday, Cassia is matched with Xander, her best friend. But when she watches the microcard, She also sees Ky's face as her match. When the things go wrong, Cassia start to doubt the Society. Who would she choose, Xander or Ky ???

I love the book. It's written in fast paced. I love how the characters develop, especially Cassia. At first, she believes everything The Society tell her. But when she sees Ky's face, she starts to think about everything and it makes her doubt the Society. The love story is very beautiful and realistic. I love when Cassia and Ky are together and getting to know each other, it's so sweet. The cover is beautiful and can describe the book. I highly recommend the book.

I give Matched 4 out of 5 stars.
